Open Meeting-Preparing for the Synod-Tue 4th November

The actual meaning of the word “Synod” is journeying together. It is a meeting where members of the church come together to review things and make decisions.The synod will take place in the Spring 2016 in Limerick, it will be a three day event with around 400 representatives of the life of the faith in the Diocese. To be truly representative the delegates should come from parishes, schools, colleges, Health care communities,members of minority groups,non Irish citizens, worlds of business, the arts, sport and other areas of culture. At this open meeting on 4th November we hope that we will recruit delegates to attend the Synod, representing our whole community. These delegates will have meetings with other parishes over the coming months, asking what topics should the Synod address. All are welcome to attend the meeting and air their views and their hopes for the future of our church.
